Volunteer Terms & Conditions
1. Service Hours
Volunteers are generally expected to contribute approximately six hours daily, with a one-hour break, according to agreed duties and applicable requirements.
2. Privacy and Confidentiality
Respect every guest’s privacy, personal space, spiritual practice and healing journey. Do not disturb guests or interrupt their activities. Guest contact details, photographs, conversations and private activities must never be shared without appropriate permission. Confidentiality continues after your departure.
3. Respectful Conduct
Respect guests, fellow volunteers, neighbours, animals and the peaceful atmosphere of the Ashram. Maintain healthy personal boundaries and avoid unnecessary intrusion into others’ lives or private spaces.
4. Facilities and Equipment
Always obtain permission before using Ashram tools, equipment, facilities or resources, or offering services to guests. Follow all instructions and safety procedures.
5. Accommodation Arrangements
Accommodation is subject to availability. If guest numbers increase or operational needs change, you may be asked to move to another suitable room or caravan. We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation.
6. Departure and Termination
Please provide at least seven days’ notice if you intend to leave, wherever reasonably possible. If the arrangement is not working satisfactorily, the Ashram may give three days’ notice to end the placement, subject to applicable law and any agreed terms. Serious safety, privacy or misconduct issues may require earlier action where lawful.
7. Security Deposit & Ashram Membership — $500
A $500 deposit is required to support the protection and maintenance of Ashram property. This contribution provides access to applicable Ashram membership facilities, subject to the agreed membership terms. It is not automatically refundable. A refund may be considered subject to the Ashram’s agreed refund policy and applicable law. Alternatively, you may choose to donate the amount to support Ashram maintenance, accommodation facilities and the care of rescued cows. Any donation must be voluntary and confirmed by you. All conditions will be explained clearly before payment.
8. Optional Ashram Maintenance Donation
The Ashram operates as a service-oriented spiritual sanctuary. Volunteers are welcome to make an optional donation towards the upkeep, depreciation and replacement of accommodation, utilities, equipment, facilities and the care of rescued cows.
This donation is entirely separate from the security deposit. It is not compulsory, and choosing not to donate will not result in a deduction from your refundable deposit or an additional penalty. We encourage contributions according to your capacity and generosity.
9. Health and Safety
Please disclose relevant health conditions, allergies, physical limitations and medications confidentially so that we can assess the suitability of the placement and any necessary safety arrangements. Volunteers should arrange appropriate personal insurance and follow safety instructions. Nothing in these terms removes legal responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Prohibited Items and Activities
Illegal drugs, alcohol and illegal items are prohibited on the premises. Smoking and activities that disturb the peaceful environment are not permitted.

Om Shanti.
Before publishing: Have the volunteer arrangement reviewed for NSW legal compliance, particularly the six-hour daily service expectation, the refundable deposit, privacy and health-data handling, and termination terms. The optional donation should remain genuinely voluntary and separate from the deposit.
